Email Verification

Email validation is the process of verifying that an email address is correct and active. It is an important step in the process of collecting and managing email addresses, and it can help ensure that messages are delivered to the correct recipients.

One of the main benefits of email validation is that it can help improve the deliverability of your messages. When you send emails to a large number of recipients, some of the addresses may be invalid or inactive. If you don’t validate the email addresses, your messages may bounce, which can damage your sender reputation and make it difficult for your messages to reach their intended recipients in the future. By validating the email addresses before sending your messages, you can make sure that only active and valid addresses are included on your mailing list.

Another benefit of email validation is that it can help prevent spam and other malicious activity. When you collect email addresses from users, some of them may be fake or used for nefarious purposes. By validating the email addresses, you can filter out any addresses that are suspicious or known to be associated with spam or other malicious activity. This can help protect your own reputation and the reputation of your recipients by reducing the amount of spam and other unwanted messages in their inboxes.

In addition to these practical benefits, email validation can also improve the user experience and build trust with your customers or users. When users provide their email addresses, they expect to receive messages from you. If they don’t receive your messages because their email address was invalid or inactive, they may be frustrated and lose trust in your organization. By validating the email addresses and ensuring that your messages are delivered, you can provide a better user experience and build trust with your customers or users.

Overall, email validation is an important step in the process of collecting and managing email addresses. It can help improve the deliverability of your messages, prevent spam and other malicious activity, and improve the user experience. By taking the time to validate your email addresses, you can ensure that your messages reach their intended recipients and build trust with your customers or users.

We use advanced MX record validation for emails entered by users through our API. Unlike the normal email validation factors that check the characters and format of the text entered in the email field, our MX Record Validator checks whether the “email address” is genuine. It does this by checking whether the domain name exists and has email DNS settings configured.

For example:

  • If someone enters id@abcdxyz.com which is not a valid domain name, it will return an error message.
  • If someone enters someone@example.com which is a valid domain name but does not have email DNS settings configured, it will again ask the user to enter a valid email address.
  • And if someone enters id@doltics.com which is a valid domain name and has email DNS settings configured too, the submission will be accepted.

We integrate with WordPress hooks and filters to provide added protection for free, with alternative access to our free API.
